That was when the puppies were three weeks, very energetic, playful and curious,totally with bucket loads of appetite, lots of movement.
Already had their de-worming, and so far they had not become too destructive.

As weeks advance, there is more curiosity and lessons to be learnt. My girl Sonia is an eager teacher of all nutritious and mischievous.

Something about my Doby.

Doby : ( born 15.September 2007) and Leon ( 26. October 2006) are what I can call the couple.

Leon has always as I can remember been in love with Doby, she is the only bitch in the pack that he will struggle all means necessary to try enter her kennel whilst she is in season , with so much love in the air it comes with loss of weight... truly the ballads of " I can't eat, can't sleep because of thinking about you uuuuu  lalallallal' apply to Leon.

With a new dog around Bandit, when Doby is in season everyone is on their toes because Doby's scent drives him crazy too ....two excited big dogs is a handful from the howling, the growling and constant marking end of Doby's season is received with anticipation.

Doby on the other hand; is a Lover and with practise has become a wonderful mother.

Loosing one special is always a heavy indescribable  emotion, it takes experience to be able to come close to describe when another goes through grief.
One my clients, lost her Rottweiler dog to snake bite recently. Painfully sad having to go through such loss especially when one so young.

We also went through same situation, 06.08.11. Our Nikita passed away, after the Vet post mortem we were informed it was cancer of blood. I was distraught with the loss and I was not there when it occurred. The one most affected was the daughter Gaby. The rest of the year she was practically sad, not playing no joy, I was their to comfort in my way of understanding yet it was a heartbreak to see her grieve.

Slowly, she was getting her joy back, started running and jumping all over, and the warmth in my heart to see her hunting and being all jovial.

One of my good clients had seen Sonia when was between two and three months of age. Interestingly, there is a glow that comes from being around a puppy, she was moving all over , being naughty and keeping as all well entertained. They fell in love with her.

Being a relaxed day, we head out for coffee with Sonia to call on the couple. Well, happy to say the were still in love with her and we had a nice chat and laughter. Noted Sonia had become less active than in our last visit, she  laid quietly next to my feet under the table, and took role of protector. As our host's geese dared to approach she warned them and they changed direction. Any movement towards us unexpected needed to have confirmation that is to be allowed....
They were loving the notion that she displayed her role so well at a tender age. It was a morning well spent we had a good opportunity to socialise.

Sonia, being as she is I spend more time with her hoping to soften her and as time progresses hopefully she will continue being jovial, playful with the rest of the bitches in the pack. I hate the bitch fights it is an ugly sight.

With many thoughts and concerns it is good to have a run, good for burning calories and just sucking all concerns some how out of you. After a break from exercise routine , today Leon and I headed out for our morning run, well I could be excited for no reason-yet I dare to believe my Leon is gifted for lack of a better word.
So, as we paced on after the 1.5k mark Leon stood steady as a rock with the look " I shall not go any further" , I agreed to my pacemaker's lead and we headed back pacing home, with much vigour we paced back...truth be told as I entered home, the was a few minutes of rain.
I dare say my Leon kept me dry today.

Mothers milk is the best , the puppies are growing well and doing what puppies do best play and be naughty.

As weeks go by the puppies are progressing well.

My girl Sonia is now 4 months, always enjoys playing with the puppies considering they all are puppies.

Today the weather was cool, plenty of  on - off showers through the day.
Our usual routine of morning walks and runs went on as always during low tide.
Bandit managed the 2K run, while Gaby and Leon had their 2K walk. Sonia is out of exercises for now, she  had an injury after joining in the game between Gaby and Bandit, so she is to rest till her leg heals. It is improving and you can see it in her eyes when she sees the others play, but I tell her "wait a few more days and you will join them soon dear". From her excited puppy eyed look, and wagging tail, you can see that soon is too far.
Kiara is relieved from exercises, still being good mummy to the puppies. Now they are beginning the road to independence where they prefer to self feed during weaning. Doby had some light exercises today in the compound.
As evening comes all is well as we await the new beginnings to dawn and wonder what it will bring.

We are a pack of six Rottweilers, eldest being Kiara and the youngest our Sonia-4 month bitch.
Each with own character, and role to play .... each special in their own way.
In addition for the moment we have lovely six puppies ( 3 bitches 3 dogs) parents are Kiara ( bitch) Bandit ( stud dog)
